The pregnant mother and business owner shot and killed in Seattle's Belltown neighborhood last week will be laid to rest on Friday.

Eina Kwon, 34, was eight months pregnant when she was shot and died from her injuries; her baby also did not survive.

The suspect accusing of killing her, Cordell Goosby, is due back in court June 29 to enter a plea.

KOMO News spoke with a downtown security officer who was one of the first on scene and tried to save Kwon’s life, Randy Norberg, who patrols downtown Seattle for Iron & Oak Protective Services.

“A lot of the times we’re dealing with overdoses, just two days ago I had to perform CPR with a partner of mine and brought back somebody,” Norberg said, “Almost on a daily basis we’re saving lives in that aspect, sometimes people multiple times a day – it takes its toll, but we’re out here to help.”

But Norberg was faced with a very different situation at 4th Avenue and Lenora Street on June 13.

“I walked by probably 30 to 40 seconds before the shooting, the shooting started behind me,” Norberg said, “I took cover at first because it was really close, I heard somebody was down on the ground up the street, I ran down there to help.”

Norberg said he ran up to the bullet-ridden white Tesla to see if anyone was injured.

“She was shot in the side of the head, and she was eight months pregnant,” Norberg said, “I came around the passenger side, I applied a couple bandages to her head, I was checking her for other injuries.”

Norberg said he held on to try and stop the bleeding until police arrived, but Kwon and her baby girl did not survive. Kwon’s husband was also injured in the shooting.

Seattle police said Goosby is seen on video suddenly running up to the Kwons’ car and appearing to quickly fire gunshots before running away.

As Kwon’s family and friends prepare for her and her child’s funeral services, Norberg said he still thinks about the what if’s, and what if he had been there sooner.

“It’s not easy, I still think about it constantly,” he said, “My heart goes out to her family. I wish I could’ve saved her, I wish I could’ve been there, I’ll never forget her.”

Funeral services for Kwon and her child are scheduled Friday afternoon starting at 2 p.m. at Acacia Memorial Park & Funeral Home at 14951 Bothell Way NE, Seattle, WA 98155.

The family told KOMO News through representatives they welcome anyone who would like to come say goodbye to Kwon and her baby.
