Seattle Children's patients design cleats with UW softball players

SEATTLE — The University of Washington softball team visited patients at Seattle Children's on Wednesday and designed cleats together.

The Huskies will wear the custom cleats during a televised series with Cal at Husky Softball Stadium from April 6-8 on the Pac-12 Network. The 17 players each brought a pair of white cleats to the hospital, where they were designed by patients.

"We are thankful to the UW Softball team for bringing creativity, smiles and joy to patients at Seattle Children’s," the hospital said in a statement.
